DENA GILBERT SHELDON Dena Gilbert Sheldon is a lifelong Nevadan whose interest in helping people acquire, grow, and protect wealth led her into the area of estate planning. Ms. Sheldon practices primarily in the areas of Estate Planning, Tax Planning, Estate Administration, and Business and Entity Formation. Her main objective is to assist individuals in reaching the personal and financial goals they have set for themselves and their families.
PROFESSIONAL Ms. Sheldon has worked in the legal profession since 1997. While attenidng law school, she clerked for a firm that focused on international business transactions and asset protection. Upon finishing law school, she served as a law clerk in Nevada's Second Judicial Distirct Court. During her clerkships, she assisted the judges with civil, criminal, family, and business cases. Ms. Sheldon has also worked in firms that handle bankruptcy, civil and criminal litigation, and estate planning. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Nevada, the Northern Nevada Women Lawyers Association, the Estate Planning Council of Northern Nevada, and the Washoe County Bar Association. Ms. Sheldon makes sure her clients feel comfortable by offering a persona analysis of their individual situation and goals. She is able to create estate plans designed to meet the personal needs of her clients in a timely manner. Clients often express appreciation for Ms. Sheldon's ability to explain legal terms and estate planning options in "plain English." They also value the convienient central location of her office.
EDUCATION Ms. Sheldon earned a bachelor's degree in business management form the University of Nevada, Reno. She was awarded scholastic honors and was recognized as one of the University's Top Ten Senior Women. She continued her education at Western State College of Law where she graduated with honors, receiving her Juris Doctor degree and completing the school's emphasis program in taxation.
PERSONAL Ms. Sheldon enjoys the great outdoors and all of the activites northern Nevada has to offer. In addition to spending time with family and friends, some of her favorite activies include skiing, golf, fly-fishing, and travel.
